We are very pleased to announce that the Oldham Opportunity Area board has provided funding for two evidence-based programmes for the Autumn Term. Each programme will have funding to support cover for one member of staff to attend. The venue for each of the courses is the Cathedral Suite at North Chadderton School

Course: The Effective Use of Teaching Assistants

The Effective Use of Teaching Assistants – This programme is suitable for both primary and secondary schools and is targeted at senior leaders. The course has been described as both informative and incredibly useful and aims to support school leaders to use Teaching Assistants to  really make difference by improving outcomes for groups of pupils more effectively.

Dates are as following:
12th November – Full Day
19th November – Half Day (Afternoon)
26th November – Half Day (Morning)
18th December – Half Day (Afternoon)
16th January – Half Day (Afternoon)

Course: The Effective Use & Evaluation of Pupil Premium

The Effective Use & Evaluation of Pupil Premium – This programme is aimed at Senior Leaders, Pupil Premium Reviewers & those staff in charge of Pupil Premium funding. The course aims to demonstrate the best way to use data to define the challenges around how to use Pupil Premium funding and how evidence can be used to tackle those defined challenges. It also looks at what the evidence tells us about delivering and sustaining quality first teaching and helps schools look at what they want to happen and how to measure and track their success.

The following points will also be addressed:

  • Quality assured Pupil Premium Framework
  • Honest & robust evaluations
  • Strategies to evaluate the impact of Pupil Premium strategies effectively
  • Evidence informed Pupil Premium strategies

Dates for the programme are:

7th December – Full Day
11th January – Full Day
1st February – Full Day
